Longchamp Le Pliage review & “what’s in my bag?” 11.15.14

THIS is my all time favorite bag I’ve ever purchased! The Longchamp Le Pliage nylon tote bag in Taupe. It’s a light weight bag in a neutral color (it comes in 12 colors) that goes with everything, and it’s the absolute ideal fall/autumn … Continue reading

Fall work outfit: Army green jacket, Old Navy. Gray sweater dress, Target. White crochet vest, Moms. Black tights, Target. Brown ankle boots, Old Navy. Brown skinny belt, Target. My pup, not sold in stores 😉

I like the way this dress hits me. It comes in right under my chest for a nice waist line and the length is perfect for work. I’m a big fan of vests and cardigans that are the same length or longer than the dress or skirt you’re wearing, so that’s why my mom is never getting this back 😉 The boots and jacket are the two newest items in my closet. The jacket gives a slouchy Lindsay Weir (freaks and geeks anyone?) look and the boots are the perfect fall boot that I’ll probably wear everyday with every outfit this season. Don’t judge if you see them in every picture 😉

“So, you’re not a size two? So, what?”

I have to admit it, I’m one of those girls that used to say, “I’m not thin enough to pull that look off.” Okay, maybe sometimes I still say it, but I’ve learned I can be fashionable like the girls I see in fashion magazines, Pinterest, or just on social media in general. I’ve just learned to do it my way.

Dressing for your shape means being honest with yourself. You can pull off any look you want, you just have to be smart about it. Instead of me saying, “I can’t wear that outfit cause I’m bigger than her.” I say, “I want to try this outfit, but change this” and then go for it! There’s no harm in trying new looks. I’ve gone through many looks over the years myself. I can still hear my maw maw Joyce now… “My granddaughter has odd taste.” Although, I went through many different trends through high school (when my maw maw would say that the most) I feel, at 25, I’ve found my style. My style does change with mood, some days I lean towards hippie, or trendy, or preppy, but for the most part, I know what I like and what looks good on me.

This blog is dedicated to all the other Daryen’s out there. That struggled to find something to wear in the morning for school, that cried in countless dressing rooms, and that crossed their arms just right to cover that pooch. You’re beautiful! Although I obviously love clothes, loving yourself is the most important. You have to love your body to dress it. Through this blog I’ll be showing you how I dress on a daily basis in my small town for work, going out, or just daily errands. Hopefully you get inspired on outfits you want to try and find the confidence to try them… no matter your size.
